The Orly Boshuyzen Mayoral Campaign

Orly 2016 Campaign Logo

The dog park in Enfield has a┬ácommunity full of wonderful people! I really don’t get over there often enough, mostly because the wood chips freak out my dogs for some reason. I swear, Momo turns into this weirdly passive dog and it’s like he’s completely switched personalities from his usually dominant self. Orly, on the other hand, remains submissive but just wants to see all the people. I brought you two to the park to get tired, so run around! It never happens.

In any case, every year the dog park runs a “mayoral” race to raise money for the park. To enter is a simple $5 fee and then you campaign for donations. The winner (aka person who raises the most) gets bragging rights and a special parking spot. All of this culminates in a fun all-day event called Puppy Pride, which has vendors, rescues, K9 demos, and contests.

Naturally, my dogs are the cutest in the world, so in 2015 I entered Orly. Not only did I enter him, I decided he needed a campaign logo and campaign posters.┬áThis was at the very beginning of the election cycle, so I based my design off of Bernie Sander’s logo…and just like Bernie, we didn’t win. That’s okay though, a very cute Goldendoodle won, and a fun time was had by all!
